The Rise of the Master Within III - Hugh McCague: transcript

Greetings everyone. It's great to be with you. Thanks for everything that you do by the way of learning, growing, being of service and giving back. We'll get underway with our presentation now. The rise of the master within three. We get underway. I'll share a slide with you. Now the concept of the master within the inner self or divine within is central to the roian way of life which is unique yet universal for each student.

We will continue to explore this topic and the many ways the guidance and presence of the master within is made known to us. are working and uniting with the divine within are at the heart of mysticism and the mastery of life. In this manner, we'll continue to explore how Rosacushian laws and principles increase our well-being and capacity for service. And we have an aspiring artwork before us to help us in this matter.

It's a work entitled El Arca Deina or translated in English the divine ark and it's by Nicomedes Gomez. The work dates from 1959 and it's a mixed media of uh pen and gash uh on board or panel and it's 153 cm high by 96 cm across and there's a wealth of symbolism like it's part of his esoteric series of paintings which are way encyclopedic in their in their nature. These works tie in with the meditation period we're about to have. The artist ascended and descended from the heights of the celestial sanctum and then depicted that in various esoteric works of art in the series and we'll do likewise and have an opportunity to experience this in this way like the artist we attune with the cosmic and then we emulate the the cosmic which then allows us to attune

with the cosmic even more and then follow through to emulate an even greater capacity cosmic. And this is the way of selfmastery. I know there's many things on the painting uh that I think are intriguing you. You you'll notice for example the coloration schemes is very f is fascinating. You'll see lower down and register here there's the trials and tribulations of humanity as they rise up and learn the lessons of life and as ascend and mature and grow grow up coming to full fruition in the cosmic uh consciousness.

We note the fires that are causing the child of transmutation and alchemy both the material and transcendental alchemy. They're going from the lead to the gold the baser nature to the spiritualized and nobled and rich nature. You notice u there's various circles and related figures here. Here this of a pol a jewel or a polyhedrin um is mal and the uh cababalistic tree of life. So you can see the the sephroofoth here. The top one here is implied kether. It's implied to be the master Yeshua or the master Jesus. And think of that as our divine within the master with master within before us. And we see the that the dove here the descending infused and spiritualize increasing

spiritual realization all sentient beings the great radiations of light various applications of triangles and other forms of sacred uh application of geometry. the 12-fold stars associated with the pattern the cosmos the 12 with not only the 12 zodiacal signs but the inner suggestions the inner disciples of the of the master Yahashawa [Music] as well as the tenfold of the 120 we see the radiations of light and well-being that we will participate in when we ascend to the heights of the celestial sanctum crucially in here at the center we see a spir a spiral and it's inward moving movement. It moves in towards the center where there is the the holy grail and the chalice, the communion cup. On either side of it uh is the pillars of

the temple of Solomon. would see as suggested by the title's work the divine ark uh the great ark and the mystical journey of Noah uh and the rebirth of humanity and all beings the great radiations of light out from it. There's also the suggestion of the of the tabernacle. You see the three-fold um triangles rotated or the triple triad of the nine-pointed star here in green in a beautiful symbolism of nine such as that of completion, spiritual awakening, wisdom, wisdom. It's befitting in this and suggested by the artists, but also as we perceive this work, we start to conceive more deeply um not only what the artist has experienced, but what humanity over the ages has experienced.

The reference to the the divine arc reminds me of the great work one of the most learned persons of the entire Middle Ages, Hugh St. Victor. He with his students uh undertook an educational system in stages of initiation where they got they they mirrored the passage or the great journey of the mystical ark of Noah. It was also a meditation practice where on the great floods of the water which you can see suggested by the blue waters and waves here. In a way, in meditation, we rise above the tumultuous times and we gather, we collect ourselves together in our faculties just like all the animals of creation were on the ark in this great great journey um towards the the rainbow and realization of covenant.

The tabernacle that's implied here by being within the temple of Solomon is also befitting for example in mystical traditions one of the renowned students of Hugh St. Victor was Richard of St. Victor and like his master he applied not Noah's ark but the the tabernacle uh and the ark within it as the different stages of mystical unfoldment and used that uh as like his master teacher uh Hugh convey all knowledge of the seven liberal arts and beyond. It reminds me too, the temple of Solomon has been used as a a symbolic diagram and cosmoggram for the stages of spiritual development but also the practice of meditation as we move increasingly inward to the very presence of the divine within the master master within at the holy of holies. I think of there of course of uh the master Martinez Pasquali and the order of the ninth masons of the elect priests

of the universe or the order Elco. In their initiations they pass through successive stages of the temple of a Solomon. Also in their actions and their meditations they move increasingly inward to from the outer porch to the holy of holies as they purify themselves. We will do these these things as Martinez Busquali St. Victor Richard St. Victor all and other spiritual masters of the world traditions that are suggested by this beautiful work the divine ark in our period of meditation have been taken in this work of transmutation and cosmic atunement and emulation of the cosmic. I invite you now to turn inward even more by closing your eyes and we'll have a period of meditation.

However you're situated, lying down or seated, just make sure that uh your spine is straight so you can breathe in an unencumbered way with eyes closed and reducing visual stimulation increasingly turn inward. Making that passage from the outer porch increasingly towards place of the holy of holies and the ark of the covenant symbolic the divine within.

One of the beautiful things about the roish teachings is their universal nature. Krishna Ram work is not a religion but it helps us understand all things in greater accord whether they be from the spir spiritual traditions of the world or the arts and sciences. Let us just use this time to concentrate on our breath the great incoming of the breath and the great outgoing of the breath. We began this incarnation with through our first breath and we'll close it out in the great initiation of our last breath.

In the conscious interlude referred to by passenger ber Ralph and Lewis, we have a great field of action to learn and grow with the great adventure of selfmastery. When we're guided by the master within, we let go anxiety, fear, embrace well-being and health. All the challenges of life are like those in the lower register of the painting by Nicoman Gomez. There for us to be transformed, transmuted, enriched and enoble through the healing process.

Divine within knows the way and it will encourage us in this and all other things. So let us not be fearful. There is a perfect way through life that can be revealed through the divine within. All our weekly teachings of the rose Krishna order are geared in this manner for us. Let's continue to enjoy the gentle rhythm of the breath.

Moving deeper and deeper towards the master within the holy of holies, the inner sanctum. I invite you now as a special spiritual exercise to envision a circle about 3 m all around you.

Draw this white circle around you and sense with it that all physical phenomena are without it, outside of it as you move deeper and deeper in within. Then draw another concentric circle at a radius of 2 meters around you. And picture all mental and emotional experience phenomena outside of it.

And now picture another white circle around you. One meter radius of unit. And all spiritual matters are within it. The divine within within it.

Let us dwell for a while. This inner sanctum, this inner circle. Calling the law of silence. Cosmic attunement. Enjoy the enrichment.

Just be s receptive to the experience that is increasingly surrender. Let us undertake another spiritual operation of the work and worship of the

Rosacrusian order ammo while we dwell focusing entirely on this spiritual within divine within the inner circle and sanctum. I invite you like in the painting the divine ark, picture a white spiral rotating counterclockwise around your great heart center, psychic center of the heart, spiritual center of the heart.

Picture now this white spiral moving around your heart in three revolutions. Feel the heart center be increasingly charged as you draw inward to it. The center of the heart, the center of your being. Now let us undertake a further spiritual

operation of the work and worship of the Rose Krishna order amin our meditation period. I invite you now to say the following prayer and invocation with me. May the divine essence of the cosmic infuse my being and cleanse me of all impurities of mind and body that I may enter the celestial sanctum attune in puress and in worthiness. So might it be.

Now let us picture ourselves rising up into the vastness of the cosmos beyond the earth and beyond the solar system, the wonders of the cosmos. I apply the law of correspondence as we move higher and higher faster and faster way beyond the speed of light at the same time move deeper and deeper inward very center of our being.

We sense the great stupendous motion of the universe about its axis. Great cosmic axis here in our spine and our holy temple of our body. Let us be towards the midpoint of that great cosmic axis about which the universe revolves. And let us slow up when we come to its midpoint.

Take in this dependent view by great harmony and music of the spheres. A great sea of vibrations spoken of by the Rosacrruian as the cosmic keyboard only success of higher and higher octaves. this high point of spirituality and consciousness. You may wish to visualize now your personal celestial sanctum following the instructions of the booklet Neighbor 777.

Let us radiate love and well-being like a great flood light throughout the cosmos to all sentient beings who are in need of guidance and healing. Just let the light flow out, the love and well-being flow out. Great flow from the fountain of life reaching all in need.

moving outward at a tremendous pace. Enjoy the exhilaration of the radiations just like the exhilaration of rising to the heights of the celestial sanctum. continue the radiations of the love and well-being to all in need and all of petition.

A certain point I think you'll find that the radiations will continue without any conscious effort. the wisdom of the divine within. At certain points, I think you may find the radiations even speed up and you'll know you're reaching those in need. When this happens, just keep surrendering. Let the radiations continue. Let the process unfold to the law of cosmic atunement and the law of service.

Allah humility. Okay. soon. We'll formally close this period of sending metaphysical aid, but we'll dwell at the heights of the celestial

sanctum and meditation a while longer. Let's be assured that these radiations of love and well-being will continue as a way of life, a path of selfmastery with the assistance and identification with the master within. Formally close this period of metaphysical aid by saying, "If it pleases the cosmic, it is done. So it be."

Let us continue to dwell a while longer. The center of our being, the center of the cosmos. The height of the celestial sanctum at one with the one before we begin in our descent from the heights of the celestial sanctum.

I invite you now to invoke the law of gratitude which will intensify the application of the law of cosmic attunement even without intending so selflessness. You wish to now extend your love and gratitude to all those who have taught you well to all those who sacrificed well on your behalf. to all those who have loved you well.

Let us begin our descent from the heights of the celestial sanctum moving with tremendous speed way beyond the speed of light as myriad galaxies stellar phenomena enjoying the great Harmony of the spheres, great system and order of the macrocosming. The system and order by the law corresponds of us as a microcosm and seeing in the distance the Milky Way galaxy, our home plunge into the great arm where we dwell past a myriad stars and cosmic web connecting the stars.

See in the distance great fiery ball of the sun in our solar system and the beautiful blue jewel of the earth. Break unto Malcus. Let us come back to the hemisphere where we left off. a continent, great nation or country, province or state or geographic area or town or city or neighborhood.

Before we close this meditation, let us from within the inner unitary circle. Let it disappear as well as the second circle and the outer circle disappear. So we bring the free generation out and beyond into all and liate the cosmic based on this higher period of cosmic treatment as a way of life.

Now let us descend on our home or dwelling or office where we left off. However we're situated and invite you to say the following prayer invocation with me. May the God of my heart sanctified as atunement of self with the celestial sanctum. So it be at this time you may wish to open your eyes and stretch regenerated re-energized remade and rested and all the more ready for the work and worship of the Rosian order am now and always.

Thank you. We'll resume with the main body of our presentation. Now the presentation titled the rise of the master within is intended in part as a poetic expression. Here rise means the increasing guidance and prominence of the master within in our lives for more healthy harmonious and mature living.

The master within, the inner self, or the divine within are equivalent terms, each helping our minds to grasp the meaning and crucially have the firsthand experience of them. As mentioned earlier, the concept of the master within or divine within is central to the rosacrruian way of life which is unique yet universal for each of us.

Indeed, the master within is the inner self. Sometimes spoken of as the conscience. Indeed, the conscience is the master within's voice. It is as a rash crucian glass reminds us the soul force that brings into our being a divine intelligence just as we experience during our period of meditation. Well, the roian emphasize doing that and it's at the heart of mysticism the direct experience. No intermediaries, no outer teacher, no priest. You need to weigh in like the great teachers of the past have. And that's how they attain their mastership. And that's how we're doing it.

Now the master within is as that galossh reminds us the spiritual consciousness within the human body that is between and the holy temple. It has its own immaterial faculties and functionings. It constitutes a distinct form from the physical form in which it temporarily resides. In a certain sense, this consciousness constitutes human's real being as part of the soul or divine element of human existence.

We can think of the master within as our unshakable foundation in living. It's always there to guide us. It always knows what to do if we but avail ourselves with it and make ourselves worthy. It's part of the reason we did prayer and invocations like the law of humility, the law of service in our period of meditation.

Indeed, in our weekly studies of the Rosacruians and all the Rosacrushian terms and concepts and laws and principles given to us, they all help our minds align with and be in harmony with the cosmic mind through the master within. Now, I made an illusion earlier to the poetic nature of the rise of the master within. Indeed, there's a certain poeticness in the concept of the master within. And I wanted to read to you Rosa Michael Shuli's poem, it never leaves in the amark book upon a quiet. I'll give you a reference to it.

It never leaves. I ran into a problem without an answer, it seemed. when from my past a teacher spoke and explained the uncertainty. Later my child came to me with a puzzling predicament. Soon my late father filled my mind and answered with perfect sense.

An alliance rose within me at my saddest moment in life, filling my heart with soloulless, removing my thoughts of strife. And when caught up in happiness, my soul singing with contempt. They are my patrons that hold me a right and keep my time well spent.

Before I drift in your slumber's night, wandering towards some struggle or plight. They escort my thoughts to make things right. A force of guidance forever in my life. It's very beautiful and moving on the presence of the master within and a hell help that reaches out for all resources whatever form they may take. Also at times the master within will come forward with great strength will rise up into the heights of the celestial sanctum seeming in a in a fraction of a second and a great force carries us forward and enriches our conscience. We let go and surrender these experiences of illumination, great awakening, moving into the mystical union. I think of the short poem by Walt

Whittmann entitled as in a swoon that was written during 1872 to 1876 and it appeared in the the the 1876 printing of leaves of grass which is an inspired work expression of the cosmic mind. As in a swoon, as in a swoon, one instant, another sun ineffable fold dazzled me.

And all the arbs I knew and brighter unknown orbs 10,000fold. One instant of the future land, heaven's land. So you see just in that expression he's emulating the experience of cosmic consciousness for us and helps draw us to it and we move to it all the more easily having done a period of cosmic atunement the celestial saint indeed in our lives we need to be proactive in embracing our daily experiences as the past inspired officer of the rose Christian order Dr. Lonnie C. Edwards mentions in his spiritual laws that govern humanity and the universe that we have an opportunity our meditation to go into a special classroom an inner sanctum and we may even wish to

visualize it like we did today and there your master teacher expects and awaits you. We see the the master within, the divine within, often posed as a the a great teacher, the central master in our life, the most important master in our life. Although they're masters, we can understand through comprehension of our master within. We also think the master within like the cosmic, a great coworker with us. And over time in our maturing and growing up, we increasingly identify with the master within.

Become it, know it, and realize how we were it all along. Need the conveyances of the master within. We astonish our outer self. But there's always a deep familiarity because it's where we were all along. It's the master within being the master within. Now the west Christian order amort seeks for us to develop our relationship with the master within and be comfortable going to it and asking questions and being silent and receiving guidance. It's a very comfortable habitual way of life. Very deeply meaningful way of life.

We need to focus on its presence and know it's always there for us throughout our life and childhood and into our elder life with great goodness within us. It brings a light that dispels darkness and a joy which the soul will sound forth or resonate with in harmony with the music of the spheres.
